Heres some progress I've made on the RG Zaku. Got some armor painted and decaled. Gonna clear coat this, then remove the armor to paint the frame.

The preshading was done with two-tone base colors to change the tone of the parts originally molded in different colors. Plain black for the darker shade, and a white preshade for the light shade. I'm pleased with how this worked to give a subtle tone difference on the final coat of salmon.

Unfortunately, I lost a part and wont be able to finish this by Valleycon on Sunday. I'm going to order a replacement part from GG Infinite this weekend, and work on getting this kit perfect for the next competition. (I saw Gam's amazing new decal technique and I'm gonna steal that idea.)
Back to the MG Gouf Space-type, I replaced the plastic barrels of the Gatling gun with aluminum tubing, a stock Gouf Custom is shown for comparison.

I also modded the head, I cut along the molded panel line on the lower piece, and glued the resulting middle piece to the upper piece so I can get rid of the ugly seam line, a little bit of Mr Surfacer 500 and that seam is history. Also compared to the stock head. The vertical panel lines were also scribed deeper.

Comparison of the legs while I'm at it.
